Ecstatic Dance UK • The Evening Sessions
The Hall, 6.30pm to 9.30pm. DJ to be announced.
DJ to be announced.
Ecstatic Dance UK's Evening Sessions bring a weekly midweek dance to the Eastway Baths every Wednesday. Ecstatic dance is free-form movement to a live DJ set of around two hours, opened and closed by a short circle led by a Ceremony Leader. There is no teacher and no steps to learn. The music starts ambient and meditative, builds through electronica, world music and organic beats, then comes back down to downtempo and a gentle sound bath to finish.
Arrive from 6.30pm for optional cacao and warm-up music. The opening circle starts at 7.10pm, the dance begins at 7.35pm, and the closing circle is at 9.15pm. Doors to the dance space close at 7.35pm, so please arrive by 7.10pm.
The dance floor is silent, barefoot, phone-free, and free of drugs and alcohol. Please respect your own and others' space, and stay dressed. You can chat in the cafe and hangout area. Bring a large reusable water bottle and wear layers you can move in.
Children are welcome, and under-12s go free (subject to availability). They must be supervised, and ear defenders are recommended. Tickets are £14.30 plus fees in advance or £20 on the door (card only). Pay-It-Forward, concession and BIPOC Community tickets are also available.
